AFK Today 11/4/2022

Good afternoon everyone! Now that Modern Warfare has been out for a week, we’re shifting our focus to the next big game coming out… God of War: Ragnarök. We’ve been waiting for this game for over 4 years and we’re excited to share the initial reviews. In other news, Overwatch 2 is already releasing a balancing update despite saying that they wouldn’t do that for quite some time… typical. And then we have another exciting survival-based game expected to release later this month that you should keep an eye on. Let’s dive into it.

Finally! The wait for the aged killing machine Kratos and his rambunctious half-god son to traverse the Norse end times is finally upon us. Praise has been pouring in from early reviews, with most gaming news outlets putting it at 9/10 and above. YouTube news outlet YongYea Although this will be Playstation exclusive for the moment, these types of masterfully designed games go above and beyond the normal boundaries of game coverage. The previous God of War had one of the best stories we’ve seen in a video game and hopefully we will see a satisfying conclusion to Kratos’ long journey with his son.

OWL Grand Finals and Patches

With the OWL 2022 Grand Finals commencing tonight (10 PM ET / 7 PM PT) , we can look forward to some new updates coming to Overwatch 2. So far, Overwatch 2 has seemed like an expansion and hasn't been drastically different for most people. As we’ve heard before, OW2 planned to hold off on any balances and changes for a while but we’ve already seen some characters being removed and “fixed” due to bugs. We know that with the new character being announced at tonight's finals, we also have a balance change patch along with a few character nerfs planned for later this month. If you're interested about the patch updates and Mei’s return, head over to Gamespot.com to get caught up.

For those of you that have been waiting for the new Valheim update, we might have something to fill in the void. Frozen Flame is an open world fantasy-survival-RPG that gives off a familiar vibe. With boss monsters, dungeons and ruins, this game does have some potential. Watch out for severe weather conditions as storms will degrade and damage your buildings. In this massive procedurally generated open world, gather resources, craft a base and prepare to explore the dangerous world. Early Access launches November 17th and we are definitely looking forward to it. Check out FrozenFlame.com to see what it's all about.

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator Review

With the right amount of imagination and craziness, the Landfall developers created their wackiest game: TABS, short for Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. As the name implies, this is the most realistic battle simulator on the market (or is it?). Perhaps in their googly-eyed heads they concocted a deceptive name to subvert your expectations. Guess you will have to find out for yourself by checking our game review here. If you like battle sims and crazy indie game designs, this one is for you.
